Casa Youth Shelter's mission is to provide temporary shelter and counseling services to runaways and youth in crisis, enabling them to come through the crisis with increased personal strength and a sense of renewal while in a supportive environment, with family reunification as the primary goal.

Not all our clients speak English
Rose, a made up name to protect this client's confidentiality, was a 13 year old from Westminster who came to Casa as an alternative to a "boot-camp" experience. Rose's family is Vietnamese.In the home, in addition to Rose, and her mother and father she also has four brothers and sisters. She is the second youngest. Their reported monthly income is $1,100 per month.

Our Staff
Casa's arrangements with local universities and community colleges have not only permitted recruitment of MFT Trainees, Undergraduate Interns and Fieldworkers, but they have also proved wonderful opportunities for recruiting outstanding students for employment.

The all-volunteer Board of Directors was first formed in 1977 with directors from private sector business and the community-at-large.
