Ayudantes de Casa (Casa's Helpers)

Recipient of Service:
Services of the Ayudantes de Casa are provided to the residents of Casa Youth Shelter.

Description:
Ayudantes de Casa is a non-fundraising support group that originated in 1978 to support Casa's residents. These ladies are often on the shelter's premises providing various types of support. All money received by the Ayudantes is from donations and membership dues.

Goals of Service:
The primary goal of the Ayudantes is to maintain the bedrooms at Casa. In addition, the Ayudantes supply the kitchen with small appliances, cookware, and utensils, and they often cook dinner for Casa's residents to relieve the regular kitchen personnel. Also, they provide food and prepare holiday dinners including Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, and Casa's annual Birthday party.

Casa's annual fund-raising auction is supported by the Ayudantes in the form of volunteer help during preparation and the donation of an auction-item gift.
