Extended Placement Program

In addition to our Short-Term Shelter Program, Casa Youth Shelter has the capacity to house youth aged 12-18 for longer periods of time through our Extended Placement Program. In these cases the residents are legal dependents of a county social services agency and can stay months and even years depending on their situations.

The Extended Placement Program offers a long-term structured home environment with many of the same services as the Short-Term Shelter Program. Additionally, long-term residents go to school and have off-site privileges. Many of these residents have part time jobs in addition to their school responsibilities. Residents earn privileges on a points-based levels system and can move up or down based on goals, behaviors, etc. Casa Youth Shelter assists them with transition to independent living or to an alternative long term program when possible.
